Sapodilla Plum

Thagyar-tee : Achras Zapota : Varies in appearance, some are round, some are oval and slightly more pointed at one end. The thin skin is brown and slightly rough, the flesh slightly granular in texture and pale beige to reddish-brown in colour. The fruit has flat black seeds. When ripe, it is very sweet and has a gentle fragrance. It should be completely ripe before eating.

Snake Gourd (Pae Lin Mway Thee)

This gourd has long cylindrical shape with thin-skin. It has a sweet flavour and is popular stuffed with mined meat or shrimp.

Sweet Potato

Kazon-u : It has many colours, shapes and sizes and now grown all over the world. The best known is the white-fleshed sweet potato which has either a thin, purplish-red skin or a pale beige skin. An orange-fleshed variety is also available in Myanmar. They are mainly boiled or steamed, or in some instances sliced and mixed with other vegetables to make soup.
